● 공생의 관계

★백향기

인간의 풍요로운 삶을 위한 최고의 비결은 자연과의 공생이라 생각한다. 자연과 인간은 결국 하나로 통합될 수 밖에 없는 조화로운 유기적 통합체일 것이다. 인간이 자연의 한 부분인 것과 같이 꽃과 인간은 결국 하나의 세계를 이루는 통합적 세계를 이루는 어우러짐이다. 분리 불가능한 자연의 모든 요소들이 모두 나름의 세계를 갖고 있는 듯하지만 이들은 결국 하나로 통합된 세계의 부분일 뿐이다. 내 그림의 꽃은 여러 가지 다른 것들과 뒤섞여 있다. 돌, 잡초, 흙, 벌레, 물과 함께 어우러져 있다. 모든 것이 자연의 한 부분이라는 점에서 본다면 꽃은 혼자 존재할 수 없다. 흙에 뿌리를 내려야 하고, 다른 이파리들과 섞이며, 나비나 벌들과 함께 존재한다. 그런 점에서 꽃은 혼자 스스로 꽃일 수 없다. 사람도 그러할 것이다. 부모 형제는 물론이고 가깝고 먼 모든 사람들과 관계를 유지하고 섞여 있어야 살아갈 수 있는 것은 누구에게나 예외가 있을 수 없다. 그래서 그림을 그린다는 것은 나를 들여다 보는 일이기도 하다. 그리고 모든 사람들이 함께 어울리도록 초대하는 일이기도 하다. 또한 현재의 나를 붙박이로 잡아 두지 않고 어제와 오늘, 그리고 내일이 하나의 끈으로 이어지는, 그래서 생동하는 나를 이야기하는 일이기도 하다. 자연물의 피고지는 모습이나 계절이 바뀌어 감에 따라 꽃잎이 물들고 또 져버리는 자연의 순환을 통해 인간의 삶과도 같다는 것을 표현하고 싶었다.

Symbiotic Relationship | The best tips for enriching Man life and think of symbiosis with nature. Nature and Man are probably an organic entity which eventually can not help being integrated as one. Just as mankind takes up a portion of nature, flowers and mankind are a mixture which eventually will form a single integrated world. It may seem as if all of nature’s elements have their own individual worlds, but at the end they are all integrated into one and are of course just parts of an inseparable world. The flowers in my paintings are mixed with various other things, such as stone, weeds, earth, insects and water - which all go together in harmony. If, taking the view that everything is a part of nature, flowers cannot exist on its own. They need to put down roots into the earth, need to blend with leaves together and also be in the company of butterflies or bees. In this respect, a flower can’t become a flower on its own - and, applying this metaphor, this will be true for people, too. No man is an island. People need others for life to continue; we, as people, need to carry on maintaining relationships with people and living amongst others, whether they are your parents, siblings, close friends or even not so close friends. A painting work for me, therefore, is taking a look inside myself and also an invitation for all people to get along. Furthermore, it is like telling my story full of life, which the past, present and future are connected together into a single continuous cord, instead of holding the current “me” down. Depending on the defendant's appearance or feeling that seasonal changes of natural objects petals again becomes natural through discarding of human life and also wanted to express the same. ⓒ
